this ciVic enGaGeMent initiatiVe wields the power of desiGn to
MotiVate the aMerican pUblic to reGister and tUrn oUt to Vote
in the 2024 elections. the aiGa Get-oUt-the-Vote (GotV) caMpaiGn
partners with nonprofit Vote and the leaGUe of woMen Voters
to aMplify its call for posters so nonprofit orGaniZations and
election officials can access resoUrces. a reQUired banner at
the bottoM of each poster is sUpplied. it is Vital to the spirit,
iMpact, and accessibility of this caMpaiGn that posters are
nonpartisan. posters will be displayed across caf lane at plnU
to encoUraGe stUdents, facUlty, staff and coMMUnity to Vote.
Following extensive typographic hierarchy studies, I developed two poster concepts designed to engage the viewer through bold graphics and minimalist information. The first poster “Tip The Scales” evolved from a digital illustration of the full phrase into a more refi ned composition. By stripping away redundant elements — such as the word “scales” — and introducing a block-printed typographic illustration, I achieved a more nuanced concept. The second poster uses a spaceship metaphor to symbolize launching into
our collective future and the “trajectory of tomorrow.” I utilized a gray-scale illustration with bold color accents to create a dynamic, high-contrast look. By angling the typography to mirror the ship’s motion, I merged the text and graphics into a balanced, cohesive design.
